Kathy & Cliff

At Last...

They say that good things happen to those who wait, and that has certainly been the case for us.

We met in August 2022 while caring for a mutual acquaintance who was battling a serious illness. Kathy was too busy caregiving to notice, but for Cliff there was an immediate sense of chemistry. It still took a few weeks for Cliff to make that fateful phone call to Kathy which went something like "This may not be a good time, but do you think you might want to meet some day soon for lunch?"

That lunch went well enough to warrant more phone calls which led to a second date. Kathy suggested going to see the famed astrophysicist, Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, at The Fox Theater, and Cliff would later say "She had me at Neil deGrasse Tyson!" It wasn't long afterward when our first kiss happened and we decided to try seeing each other regularly, which was a little scary at first but we agreed we would take it slow.

We lived an hour apart from each other, so initially we dated once every two weeks or so, but it wasn't long at all before we saw each other every weekend, almost without fail. We traveled together, took Spanish lessons together, cooked together, went to shows and movies together, had fine dining experiences together, and just did pretty much everything together. This was a time of growth for both of us, and a test of our compatibility which was and is remarkably perfect!

For two-plus years we continued down a path of discovery and had conversations about what the future might hold for us. We also met and got to know each other's family and friends who all gave their thumbs-up and encouraged us to take the next step. In October 2024, after two-plus years of spending most of our free time together, Cliff suggested that it was time to go ring shopping!

There isn't a single reason for us not to make this permanent, which is why we hope you will join us for our wedding. We want very much to share with you all the happiness that we have discovered. The likelihood of us meeting at all was highly improbable, but the fact we are so well suited for each other is a blessing to be cherished forever.
